Mabon with Coven Oven

Mabon is just around the corner and with it comes longer nights, crisp mornings and even crispier leaves. The Autumn Equinox is a harvest festival and it’s all about abundance baby! The hedgerows are bursting with berries and the fields are pulsing with pumpkins - it’s the last hurrah before all those gorgeous plants start sucking their energy back into their roots for the winter. Mabon is the perfect time for gathering with friends, celebrating bountiful harvests of all kinds and making some sweet equinox magic!

Come and celebrate with Coven Oven! On Saturday 23rd September we will be holding an Mabon ritual workshop from 5.30pm till 7.30pm. We’ll share our knowledge about this ancient festival, learn about (and ingest) a magic seasonal herb, do some gentle autumnal rituals and craft a special equinox gift for you to take home! There’ll be a delicious autumnal soup and a magical drink (non-alcoholic) to whet the ole whistle as well.

All food and drink provided will be vegan.

We are happy to be hosting this at Grow Wilder, whose beautiful six acre site demonstrates the value of nature for wellbeing, wildlife and food growing. The event will be largely undercover but we will also be roaming the site to take in autumn’s  bounties.

Accessibility

This event is happening at Grow Wilder, we will be in ‘The Pod’, a converted polytunnel, which is undercover and has a small step down at the door. The paths around the site are varied, some paved, some woodchip. There is disabled parking at the site - please let us know if you would like us to reserve you a space. There is an accessible toilet within 30 metres of the Pod. We will be sitting still for a while into the evening so it might be a little chilly (please dress warm). Please get in touch if you have any access needs.

Getting to the site

Please use the main entrance on Frenchay Park Road. There are loads of ways to get to Grow Wilder and we would encourage sustainable transport! There are plenty of spaces at the site to lock bikes. Grow Wilder is on the following bus routes: M1, M2, 48a, 19 and Y4. The Metrobus is only 10mins from the city centre: it is 1 stop from Cabot Circus to Grow Wilder (Begbrook). If you are driving please try to share cars as much as possible and park at Begbrook Social Club, which is very close.
