Lammas with Coven Oven

Get in, witches! We’re going a’harvesting! Lammas is coming and it’s all about abundance. The growing greens start turning gold and fruits are swelling in the hot hot heat, getting ready to plop from the bushes into our open mouths. Lammas is the all important grain harvest - as long as agriculture has been knockin’ around people have been harvesting their grain at this (the hottest, driest) time of year. It’s giving mediaeval peasant vibes: out in a field, scythe in one hand, quaffing a foaming tankard of ale with the other! Dreamy!

Come celebrate the harvest with us!! On Sunday 28th July we will be holding a Lammas ritual workshop from 2pm till 4.30 pm. We’ll share our extremely accurate historical knowledge about this ancient festival, learn about (and ingest) a magic seasonal herb, do some gentle rituals and make a special Lammas craft item for you to take home! To top it all off we will be serving up a delicious harvest snack and magical drink to whet the ole whistles.

All food and drink provided will be vegan.

We are really excited to be returning to Grow Wilder for this event.  Their beautiful six acre site demonstrates the value of nature for wellbeing, wildlife and food growing. The event will be largely undercover but we will also be roaming the site to take in summer’s bounties.

Accessibility

This event is happening at Grow Wilder, we will be in ‘The Pod’, a converted polytunnel, which is undercover and has a small step down at the door. The paths around the site are varied, some paved, some woodchip. There is disabled parking at the site - please let us know if you would like us to reserve you a space. There is an accessible toilet within 30 metres of the Pod. Please get in touch if you have any access needs.

Getting to the site

Please use the main entrance on Frenchay Park Road. There are loads of ways to get to Grow Wilder and we would encourage sustainable transport! There are plenty of spaces at the site to lock bikes. Grow Wilder is on the following bus routes: M1, M2, 48a, 19 and Y4. The Metrobus is only 10mins from the city centre: it is 1 stop from Cabot Circus to Grow Wilder (Begbrook). If you are driving please try to share cars as much as possible and park at Begbrook Social Club, which is very close.
